Australia PM Albanese calls for probe into death of 9-year-old Australian girl in Pakistan
The prime minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, has called upon the Pakistani government to investigate the case. Nine-year-old Hania Ahmed was murdered in an incident which took place while she and her family were on holiday in Chakwal, Pakistan. This young Australian girl was taken along with her family as hostages by some armed robbers on June 10. During the exchange that followed, a police officer shot at Hania thinking her family's car to be the one carrying the criminals, thus resulting in the death of Hania and injuries to her father and brother. Although police state that the armed robbers started shooting first, Hania's father has stated otherwise.
